Welcome to your Public Forum! Please use it to tell all of us what birds you are seeing in your yard, your neighborhood, on your balcony or fire escape, or in your favorite park. Tell us about any wildlife refuges you are visiting. And the birds you are seeing – what are they doing? Are they singing, nest-building, flying, foraging, sitting still and resting? Are they interacting with those of their own species or with others? Are they by themselves? In a flock? Ask questions and learn more about topics that are important to you. And remember, no question is too basic or simple – we all have to start somewhere.  If you are having trouble posting, have something to discuss with me, or have a question for me, please email me at lindahendricksspence@birdingbeyondthefieldguide.com.

Eastern Bluebirds

Our friend Jim (central Illinois) - who does post here as TBird - sent me these gorgeous photos he took in January of Eastern Bluebirds at his feeders.  He has the best set up!  His deck runs along the entire back of his house and overlooks a small ravine filled with huge mature trees.  He has several birdfeeders and birdbaths on the deck.  He and his wife Judy can sit at their table eating breakfast and have a different show every morning!  It is so relaxing to be at their house.  He told me it is normal for them to have 1-3 buebirds each winter - occasionally.  They do not show up at their feeders every day.  But this year was so different.  They have 8-9 who are coming every day.  And as you can imagine, they are thrilled and I am simply green with envy!  Here are a few of the photos he sent.  Linda
