Hello Everyone!

Here I am at my desk typing this blog to all of you. My eyes are a bit swollen, but other than that, all is well! Another eye check at my eye doctor and 3 more weeks of drops several times a day, and then onward to better birding!!!!  I can see!!!!!

I am back to working on this website and blogging after very successful cataract surgery!  I am so happy to be able to sit here at this laptop and type today – wearing no glasses!  I know there are many like me reading this – as children, we had coke bottle glasses.  When I was a teernager, I got my first pair of contacts after begging and begging my parents.  These were hard lenses – at that time, soft lenses were not available for people like me with such extreme near-sightedness and astigmatisms.  Then I graduated to gas permeable contacts, bifocal contacts, and finally back to glasses with graduated bifocal lenses.  But today – one week after my second surgery and two weeks after my first – I can look out the window that is here at my desk and with just my eyes – no glasses, no binoculars – I can see all the leaves on the trees and identify the birds at the feeders – the ones you see on the bird feeder cam.  I will need reading glasses that I can buy at the drugstore, but at least for now, no more $500. pairs of glasses!  And best of all. I have an appointment to get my hair cut this afternoon – a style to fit my face with NO GLASSES!!!!
