Great news! A Carolina Wren!

We had a frigid January where we had close to three weeks of night-time temperatures in minus digits,  day-time temperatures in single digits, and winds anywhere from 20-30 mph all day and all night.  This morning it is sunny, the temperature will be in the 50’s, there is a very light breeze, and a Carolina Wren was across the inlet in our neighbor’s yard just singing away!  And that old adage came right to my mind – Color me happy!!!!!

Cleon took this photo at our suet feeder last year – we have not seen Carolina Wrens at the feeders this year although we did have two living here with us. But remember, ‘we have not seen them’ means just that. The Carolina Wrens could have been at the feeders when we were not looking.  We think a whole lot goes on at the feeders when we are not looking.  For example, where do all those peanuts go????  Cleon puts them in, we turn around and Poof!  Gone!
