Finally! I caught that robin red-handed – or is it red-taloned? – eating seed!
For the past two years, we have had an American Robin right at this time of year (late March-early April) eating seed at the feeders. Last year, the robin was on the ground underneath the feeders. This year it has been up on the platform feeder most days for the last three weeks. And I will say it again – if only birds read their entries in field guides, birding would be so much easier! But that said – so much less fun. Every time I go outside to take a walk or sit – and have my binoculars – I never know what I am going to see or hear. Sometimes I am completely taken aback, sometimes overwhelmed, sometimes totally surprised. But one thing I never am is bored.
